WeChat Official Accounts Leak More Than the Company Website Ever Will.

The corporate disclosure gap between a Chinese company's website and its WeChat Official Account — and how to work the side that actually talks.

August 12, 2026 |

The company's .cn site lists a mailing address, a founding year, and a stock photograph of a handshake. Its WeChat Official Account posted the factory expansion, the signing ceremony with a defense-sector client, the new hire announcement with names, and a group photo with the visitor badges legible. Same organisation. One channel is a brochure. The other is a diary.

Below, we work the gap — locating an entity's 公众号 without a mainland account, reading what the corporate site will never carry, and recovering post history from accounts that look empty from the outside.
